I know Chuck, and what's more I knew Barry Seal (peripherally), and am very well acquainted with Bernardo Vasquez and Luis Cruz, two of the three (with Miguel Velez) men who murdered Seal. How do I know them? That sort of thing happens when you go to prison. Anyhow, Chuck is the real thing. He has been in the life and writes well, two qualities you rarely find in the same man. I read Killer With a Badge and enjoyed it. What's more, I was impressed, and that's saying something being as I am a guy who is acquainted with many of the most notorious Louisiana ex-cop convicts from the past two decades. I just left your presentation at Ole Miss, and you were fantastic. I am excited to purchase one of your books, if not all of them. I was going to take you up on the offer of going out for drinks, but had to study. How long were you planning to be in town?

Chuck,I bought and read your book, "Killer With a Badge". Loved it. The funny thing is that I worked 2 years at LCIW where Antoinette Frank is assigned and was assigned to the dorm where she is/was housed. I could totally understand things when you were talking about her attitude toward things. I wrote her up once and it was like I had committed the most heinous crime for writing up "The Queen". LOL

I'd give the guys the benefit of the doubt about lying to try to protect a fellow SEAL. --CH

Chuck: I originally totally agreed with your take re: the Seals. So I contacted the SOCCOM command in Tampa and learned that the real issue with the Seals is whether they lied to superiors re: the incident. We may have to let the system sort this one out. Military operatives never have the right to lie to superiors...that breach of trust in combat units is deadly long-term.

Great articale/commentary on Navy Seal Prosecution. I agree 100%, when will our government officials get common sense, maybe never. We punish these great individuals for doing a job that our most of our elected officials would cry if they had to chop of piece of wood, or change a tire. 98% of the population can't do what Navy Seals do, and we punish them. I come from an Itallian background, and in the Mob(not in the Mob just aware of there ways) would have broken this terroritst nose, teeth, ribs, and leggs, or threw him in the river to Jersey. To bad the Seals didn't do just that. Micheal Savage has been saying for years "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder" and the Lawyers prosecuting the Navy SEALS will kill us all, by giving terrorists the upper hand.

For a quickie, verbal emetic, flip through a 1980s National Review, and read the glowing, gushy, pro-Islam propaganda of 'conservative' writers. I guess that. even though the Mujaheddin raped little boys and murdered women, they prayed to God--unlike those icky Commies.

Chuck why does the USA black ball convicted felons from jobs to all sorts of other rights? But shoot you can be a jihad Muslim slime ball in the disguise of a student, get a green card and get just about any job from a Doctor to whatever else. But guess what be an American with a felony record and you can't even work in McDonald's these days. Don't you think something is wrong with this picture? But hey be a foreigner with a freaking green card and you can get any job here in the USA as long as your qualified. Hi Chuck, My name is Aaron Seal and I am Barry Seal's youngest son. I am sure you will receive a myriad of different responses to the article you wrote on my father. I however, would just like to tell you that i enjoyed your article and thought it was fair and mostly accurate considering all the conspiracy theories that abound. I see where a girl that I know, whom just recently lost her mother, did not appreciate the death photo. I truly respect her feelings on the matter and appreciate her concern. However, it does not bother me personally, I have seen that picture countless times over the years, yet cannot speak for anyone else in my family. Also, I have fond memories of the "Fat Lady". Though I was 9 years old when my father was killed, I flew several times in that particular plane, even once to Mena. Everyone has become a expert on my fathers life and death it seems, the only problem is NO ONE knows everything he was into. When I began reading,"Act of Kindness", I knew I had found an unrelenting writer of true crime. I like to read horror, I like to get to the point without any candy-coating. I feel I must let you know that you have a loyal and appreciative fan. I remember the entire journey of this tragic and exhaustive story. I know her house and their shack,I know the details. I'm pretty sure that the way you wrote this book, you were also letting several people, not mentioned, know exactly how shitty a person they were.
